NEET UG - MBBS Overview

The Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) is the required 5.5-year undergraduate degree to become a licensed medical doctor in India. Admission to this highly competitive program is strictly through the NEET (UG) entrance exam, which serves as the sole gateway to all government and private medical colleges nationwide. The course involves 4.5 years of rigorous academic and clinical training across various medical specialties, followed by a mandatory one-year rotating internship. After graduation, most doctors pursue a postgraduate specialty (MD/MS) by appearing for the NEET PG exam to deepen their expertise in a chosen field.

Guidance Gap

High emotional stress on students and parents in making a career-defining choice between a low-fee government seat and a high-cost private/Deemed college based on marginal ranks.
